There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is banned. Eight casinos are based in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and although visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are methods around this, as is correct of most border crossings.

The initial Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, highlights 150 slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and sixty six of the normal tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that features numerous comforts accompanying the casino, which offers ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machine games and 88 table games.
